The Mission of The Toronto Prayer Breakfast is to bring Christians together to pray for our leaders and our community, as a public expression of our Christian love and faith.
The night before Jesus went to the Cross, He shared a meal with His disciples. After He rose from the grave, He made them breakfast on at least one occasion (John 21:12.) The Book of Acts records that the Early Church devoted themselves "to the apostles’ teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” There’s no absolute command in the Bible to host a city-wide Prayer Breakfast, but it certainly seems to follow that the Christian leaders of a city should meet together periodically to pray and fellowship together.
That’s what the TPB aims to accomplish. While we are together, we take the opportunity to bless and thank those who serve us in the community. Prayers are offered for those working in the marketplace, in schools, in government, and those who serve the community as first responders.

The Toronto Prayer Breakfast Organizing Committee generally meets once a month to plan and produce the annual Breakfast. Many of our volunteers are involved with pastoral or prayer team activities at their local congregations. If you are interested in joining the Committee, please contact us, including your area(s) of interest and expertise. Also include the name of your home congregation and a pastoral reference letter.
The Toronto Prayer Breakfast is produced by an all-volunteer team of local Christians from various congregations, para-church ministries and businesses, and the event is run on a cost-recovery basis. Any surplus funds are forwarded to the next Breakfast event.
